🌟 About the Team 🌟

Woven by Toyota's Behavior team tackles autonomous driving challenges in prediction and planning. We analyze vast amounts of multimodal driving data, optimize vehicle control, minimize latency using hardware acceleration, deploy scalable and efficient machine learning and evaluation pipelines, and design innovative neural network architectures to advance state-of-the-art machine learning in prediction and planning. We are seeking colleagues with execution and creative problem-solving skills to realize human-centered autonomous driving solutions for personal and commercial use.


👤 Who We're Looking For 👤

We are seeking Machine Learning Engineers with the skills to evolve state-of-the-art machine learning systems in the prediction and planning domains of autonomous driving. You will design and implement innovative ML models for next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms, impacting millions of Toyota's commercial vehicles. You will contribute to society by developing autonomous driving technology with passion.


Responsibilities

  • Develop technical roadmaps, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive impactful projects.
  • Lead the design and development of advanced ML models for autonomous vehicles using deep learning and large-scale data analysis.
  • Deploy scalable and efficient ML models to autonomous vehicle platforms.
  • Maintain cost-efficiency while integrating the latest technologies and safety standards.
  • Develop end-to-end ML components, from data strategy planning to optimization and validation.
  • Develop state-of-the-art deep learning models using a scientific approach and logical thinking.
  • Develop in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teams in perception, planning, simulation, infrastructure, and tooling to drive unified solutions.
  • Hybrid work policy with 3 days per week in the office.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of development experience with Python and major deep learning frameworks, with an understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in C++ for implementation on vehicle platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience with deep learning approaches such as supervised/unsupervised learning, transfer learning, multi-task learning, and deep reinforcement learning.
  • 5+ years of experience with ML workflows, data sampling and curation, preprocessing, model training, ablation studies, evaluation, deployment, and inference optimization.
  • Strong leadership skills to influence stakeholders and team technical strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly and accurately convey concepts in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research publication experience at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR.
  • Proven track record of implementing large-scale ML models in autonomous driving or related fields.
  • Experience with embedded system implementation and mass production.
  • Experience in computer vision (multi-view geometry, camera calibration, depth estimation, NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, SLAM).
  • Experience in robot motion planning (trajectory optimization, sampling-based path planning, model predictive control, etc.).
  • Experience with time-series data and/or sequential modeling.
  • Experience with autonomous driving challenges (perception, prediction, mapping, localization, planning, simulation).
